Greetings Camp Courageous Hawkeye Campers!

Camp Courageous is starting the process of taking names for the 18^th Annual Camp Courageous/Iowa Hawkeye Spring Tailgater, to be held May 3, 2025.  Below is the proposed schedule.

To register for this event one must submit the information below to Charlie Becker cbecker@campcourageous.org  (319/465-5916  ext 2100):

Guardian/Camper ratio is recommended to be 1:1 (the ratio of campers to staff can be higher when coming from a facility)…a camper is not signed up until the guardian receives a return email from CC saying they are signed up.

W/C =wheelchair…or a camper who cannot do steps,  put YES.  Campers are divided into two teams-Black & Gold…one team will have all those with mobility challenges (Gold-they will be using elevators), and the other team (Black team will be using steps). CC campers and guardians are the guests of the U of I Football Team and Sponsors…please let our hosts & sponsors know how grateful we are to them.

18^th Annual Camp Courageous/University of Iowa Hawkeye Tailgate Party

May 3, 2025

7:45-8:30 a.m. Camper’s arrival and check-in at Hansen Football Performance Center 992 Evashevski Dr, Iowa City, IA 52246

• • Camp Courageous will check-in everyone inside the main entrance to the building. Everyone must be registered in advance.
  • Check in; receive name tags and T-shirt handout RH Team to distribute. Campers are told if they are on the Gold or Black Team.  Immediately go through food/drink line provided by Molo-2^nd floor.

• 8:00 a.m. Hawkeye football players (seniors) arrive

• • Check in, receive name tags, proceed through food/drink line. Players eat at tables with campers & parents/guardians
  • Photo opportunity with university photographer and Iowa backdrop

• 8:30 a.m. Coach Ferentz arrives short program – Coach Ferentz is TBD

• • Coach Ferentz talks about exciting things going on in Hawkeye FB
  • Coach introduces players-they will sit at the table behind their name tag

• 8:45 a.m. Autograph line

• • Campers will go through the autograph line with FB players and Coach

• 9:30 a.m. Facility Tours

• • Group #1 (Black) will start, Group #2 (Gold) will follow w/c

• • • Start in player lounge
    • NFL Wall
    • Team Room – Watch video, Q&A with players. Black Group will descend stairwell to weight room, Gold Group will be escorted to lobby elevator and through lower-level hallway to weight room

• • • • Restroom Break before heading to lower level

• • • Locker room
    • Weight Room
    • Practice Field

• 10:30 a.m. Group photo on Kenyon Outdoor Practice Fields through lower-level hallway & Indoor field (S&C Camp maybe occurring simultaneously, follow perimeter of indoor to Kenyon Outdoor Fields)

• • This timing will depend on tour timing
  • Campers will play with FB players on practice facility

• 12:00 p.m. Depart through Kenyon Outdoor Fields gate
