Bill Berger And His Wife, LaRee Landt, Hit A Home Run At Camp.

Camp has had the good fortune to know Bill Berger for many years.  He is a fascinating person, who we have learned a great deal from and plan to have him share with staff during orientation some of his life lessons.   Bill was enrolled at UNI in the fall of 1981 and suffered a life changing car accident over Labor Day break that resulted in him being a T12 paraplegic. He did his rehab in a few months and went back to UNI in January for the next semester. Thereafter, he graduated in 1986 with an Accounting degree, passed the CPA exam, and has had a very successful career at Transamerica (formerly Life Investors) for the past 35 years. He knows there have been others that have not been so fortunate as him, especially those disabled at such young ages. That is why he feels Camp Courageous provides such a value to so many and he wants to continue with his support of Camp.  Like many, Bill is cleaning house and donating many precious items to Camp from camping equipment, to a telescope, to furniture, fishing equipment, medical supplies and so much more.  We are so grateful to Bill for his kindness and generosity and that of his wife, LaRee Landt…we think the world of them…such a wonderful couple!
