Burma Bridge - 1 hour
Cross this challenging cable bridge suspended 20 feet above a ravine, while securely fastened to a safety rope. Most non-ambulatory campers can be assisted by a staff member to cross the bridge.
Caving (Spelunking) - 2 or 3 hours
Hike to a challenging 550 foot cave, crawl through tight tunnels, and explore an exciting underground environment. This activity can be adapted for all groups. Campers who use wheelchairs can be wheeled to the mouth of the cave and experience the first room. It is a great sensory activity.
Climbing Wall - 1 hour
The climbing wall is in the gym. Climbers are belayed as they explore the best route to the top using specially designed hand and foot holds. Non-ambulatory campers can also climb using a pulley system.
Eiffel Tower - 1 hour
This activity consists of climbing a cargo net in the gym that resembles the Eiffel Tower. The unsteadiness of the cargo net adds an element of challenge as campers climb to reach the bell at the top. Non-ambulatory campers can also climb using a pulley system.
Jungle Gym - 1 hour
The Jungle Gym includes a series of suspended climbing and walking activities. One activity is the Team Beam, which utilizes campers on the ground assisting the participant across swinging beams. Non-ambulatory campers can also climb using a pulley system. If you have done all the adventure activities, it is time take on the challenge of the Jungle Gym!
Rappelling - 2 hours
Campers descend a rock utilizing safety equipment. This activity cannot be adapted for non-ambulatory campers.
Please Note: Campers must be 8 years of age or older to participate in this activity.
Rock Climbing - 2 hours
A challenging, yet very safe activity that can be geared to the level of the group. This activity cannot be adapted for non-ambulatory campers.
Ropes Course - 1 hour
This course has several elements that promote trust, confidence, and group cooperation. This activity cannot be adapted for non-ambulatory campers.
Tree Climb - 1 hour
Enjoy the thrill of climbing a tree while secured to a safety rope. Non-ambulatory campers can be hoisted up the tree with a pulley system.
Zipline - 1 hour
Once securely harnessed in, the ride will ascend 700 feet to the top of the zipline. This will give the rider a 360-degree open air view of Camp, the park land and fields surrounding it.
Archery - 1 hour
Learn how to care for and use archery equipment, develop basic archery skills, and learn safety rules. Aim for the bullseye!
Bowling - 1 hour
Try your hand at bowling a strike on one of the two bowling lanes in the basement of Durgin Pavilion.
Frisbee Golf - 1 hour
A twist on your traditional game of golf played out on a frisbee golf course.
Sports and Games-New Field - 1 hour
A variety of activities can be incorporated into this area - baseball, kickball, basketball, mini-pitch, large group activities, new games, and more.
Yoga + Goats - 1 hour
Relax and refresh with fluid movements that stretch and strengthen, Namaste.
Arts and Crafts - 1 hour
A comprehensive program featuring activities such as painting, yarn art, tie dyeing, and much more.
Animal Experience - 1 hour
Campers experience caring for and feeding the animals - rabbits, goats, sheep, hedgehog, chinchilla, and more.
Therapy Dog - SKYE - 1 hour
Meet our gentle, well trained therapy dog, SKYE. Learn about different dog personalities and how they are utilized for service and therapy dogs.
Accessible Lookout Tower - ½ hour
Enjoy the beautiful view at 25 feet above the ground.
Hiking - 1 hour
Trek the many trails at camp. This activity can vary in emphasis from nature and sensory awareness hikes to mushroom and rain hikes.
Orienteering - 1 hour
Become familiar with the parts of a compass and learn how to use one. Then, apply this knowledge firsthand to complete two orienteering courses in the woods.
Outdoor Cooking - ½ hour
Cook over an open fire at one of our campsites in the woods.
Outdoor Living Skills - 1 hour
Love the outdoors? Learn various outdoor living skills including fire building, setting up tents, knots, and lashing.
Overnight Camping - 16 hours
Appreciate nature while sleeping under the stars or camping in a tent, tree house, or teepee.
Wild Edible Hike - 1 hour
Foraging wild fruits, greens, berries, and nuts makes a hike more fun!
Canoeing/Paddle Boats - 1 hour
Navigate Camp’s very own Lake Todd in a canoe. The mechanical lift assists campers who use wheelchairs with entering the canoe safely.
Fishing - 1 hour
Learn the basics of fishing and safety guidelines, and then cast a line into Camp’s fully stocked Lake Todd.
Swimming - 1 hour
Swimming is always a favorite activity among campers. Camp Courageous has two pools. The lap pool is 25 meters long by six lanes wide and ranges from 4 - 9 ft. deep. In the deep end of the lap pool is a climbing wall. The therapy pool is 45 ft. long by 24 ft. wide and ranges from 2 - 4 ft. deep. The pool has a ramp for easy entry into the water, four whirlpool jets with a bench for swimmers to sit and relax in the water, and a basketball hoop. There is always a certified lifeguard on duty when campers are swimming.
Group Initiative Course - 1 hour
This activity is similar to a challenge or teams course. Campers participate in a series of problem solving activities with an emphasis on group cooperation.
Recreation Activities - 1 hour
Use our parachute or Earth Ball for miscellaneous group activities.
Horseshoes - ½ hour
Can you pitch a ringer? A slower paced activity for all to enjoy.
Ice Cream Making - 1 hour
Use a hand crank ice cream maker and enjoy a refreshing treat.
Recumbent Trike/Strider Bike - 1 hour
Enjoy a ride on this accessible tricycle. One staff member and one camper can ride at a time.
Snoezelroom - 1/2 hour
A sensory room with a ball pit, bean bags chairs, soft rocker, music, sights, and sounds.
Train - ½ hour
Choo choo! Enjoy a scenic route through the woods.
