Camp Courageous is saddened with the passing of Camper Ryan Corrigan, 24 of Cedar Rapids. “Ryan was born on April 17, 2001, and was adopted by Jeff and Kirsten on April 25, 2001. After being shaken by his daycare provider at 9 months of age, Ryan’s life journey was forever changed. Ryan navigated the world with a unique blend of vulnerability and courage. The challenges he faced were formidable, yet he taught us all that our limitations are merely invitations to see life from a different, richer perspective. Ryan approached every day with an infectious enthusiasm that made even the simplest moments feel momentous. Ryan’s journey was marked by authenticity that compelled everyone around him to feel a part of his world. Ryan was a beacon of hope, a relentless spirit, and the embodiment of a love that knows no bounds. His megawatt smile warmed the coldest of days. The twinkle in his eyes was both delightful and mischievous. His laughter was contagious. Ryan blessed and inspired more people in his 24 years than most of us will in a full lifetime. His charm and infectious spirit instantly drew people in and left everyone he met and loved in a better place. Ryan enjoyed participating in school, ARC Summer Day Program, Special Olympics, the Cedar Rapids Grand Slammers, Camp Courageous activities, REM outings, and special community events. He loved entertaining anyone who would engage with him with social games of his design, favorite sweet videos, Wiggles guitar, and a Baby Shark musical toy that delivered his infamous signature song, “Tyrannosaurus Rex”.” -taken for Ryan’s obituary. Camp’s sympathy goes out to Ryan’s Family and Friends…
