Camp Policies

Camp Courageous has established policies to help ensure the safety of staff and campers. Everyone attending Camp Courageous should read through all the policies listed below. Please contact camp staff with any questions or call 319-465-5916.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made either, by email to program@campcourageous.org or by calling camp at 319-465-5916.

Camp Week Session(s): Non-refundable deposit of $200 for cancellations made in less than two weeks prior to arrival.  This would be the responsibility of the guardian when waiver units are used.

Respite Weekend: Non-refundable deposit of $100 for cancellations made the Monday prior or up to the camper’s arrival. This would be the responsibility of the guardian when waiver units are used.

Week-long Day Camp: Non-refundable deposit of $25.00 per day for cancellations made less than two weeks prior or up to the camper’s arrival. This would be the responsibility of the guardian when waiver units are used.

Note:  Camper accounts with unpaid balances may impact the ability to register for future Camp sessions.  Please contact Camp Courageous regarding any unpaid balance questions @ 319-465-5916.

 

No-Show Policy

All attempts should be made to reach Camp Courageous prior to a scheduled date if a camper will not be attending. 

No show fee(s) will be the full amount of camp session.  This would be the responsibility of the guardian when waiver units are used.

Late Pickup Fee Policy

$20 for every 15 minutes a camper is picked up late.

Notice of Privacy Practices

Right to Dismiss Statement

Camp Courageous reserves the right to dismiss an individual at any time during their attendance at Camp based on illness, injury, or safety risk to themselves or others.

Medical Stability & Safety Risk Statement

An individual must be medically stable and must not be a safety risk to self or others (behaviorally, sexually, or physically) in order to attend Camp Courageous. Camp reserves the right to determine an individual’s eligibility to attend camp or camper events.

Camp Courageous Health Policy & Precautions

While participating in activities at Camp Courageous, individuals will have a choice to wear a face mask or face shield.

Camp Courageous continues to keep safety a number one priority. Camp will also be doing the following measures to ensure that safety during this time:

  • Frequent handwashing and sanitizing measures will be encouraged.
  • Camp Courageous will promote activities done outdoors when possible. Good ventilation will be provided when indoors.
  • Campers are encouraged to bring their own water bottles with the option to use the drinking fountains to fill them.  
  • Items/equipment used at camp will be designated for that group or will be thoroughly cleaned in between groups as a general protocol.

If a camper or staff show any symptoms of any communicable disease (cough, fever, shortness of breath, etc) Camp will follow their communicable disease plan. 

Camp continues to follow the guidelines and recommendations from the CDC, state and county health departments.

Financial Responsibility for Facility & Property Damage Statement

Financial responsibility for any damage to the Camp Courageous facility or property caused by a camper will be the responsibility of the camper, parent and/or guardian.
