Camp Travel Program Road-tripping through Texas!!
Then it is off to the airport. Thanks to Jim Z, the man behind the wheel, getting the travel crew there without drama. TSA puts us through the usual ritual. Shoes off. Belts off. A brief surrender of dignity. We make it through. Now we wait. Watching people. Killing time. Letting the trip sink in.
We got the chance to meet the first officer. He let us check out the cockpit. Cool experience. We board. Dallas ahead.
We land. Texas. Day one. And somehow, we already feel a little Texan. Maybe it is the air. Maybe it is confidence. Maybe it is just wishful thinking.
First real meal is at Gloria’s Latin Cuisine. Warm lighting. Lively room. A place that knows exactly what it is doing. Fajitas arrive sizzling. Salads try to keep things balanced. Burritos show up heavy. The food is good. Honest. No nonsense.
After dinner, we drive to the Airbnb. This is home now. For the next two days. We explore, mess around in the game room, let the day unwind. Eventually, sleep wins.
Tomorrow, we hit the road. Dallas. Buc-ee’s. Shopping. More Texas. The kind of day where stories tend to find you.
