Camper Winston Landt, 62, of Cedar Rapids Passes…For Him, “It Is A Beautiful Day In His Neighborhood…”

Camp Courageous is saddened by the passing of Camper Winston Landt, 62, of Cedar Rapids.  Winston started coming to Camp in 1981 and for the next 20+years, never missed a year.  Winston was a favorate among all who met him.  Winston valued his many helpers and will be missed at his home at Discovery Living, at his day program at Milestones, by his helpers with O’Connell’s Transport, and in his Music Therapy circle with Lisa Klostermann. He leaves behind a vast collection of stuffed animals, mostly monkeys, and a large collection of transistor radios. Winston also leaves behind his very longtime caregivers and dear friends, Lori and Dan Raleigh…a couple that put Winston at the center of their lives.  Winston will be missed by all that knew him, but from his viewpoint, it’s now a “beautiful day in the neighborhood”.
