Dear, Camp Courageous Friend, Barb Muhs, 64, of Lowden, IA Passes

It is with great sadness Camp Courageous learned of the passing of Barb Muhs, 64, of Lowden, IA.  Barb was a treasure…as a pastor…as a teacher…and as a wonderful, good, and caring person.  I fondly remember Barb greeting me with open arms in Clarence, Lowden, andher last pastorate position in Lincoln, IA, at Salem Church, where she retired in 2024.  We had a special relationship that spanned many decades, where we both felt very comfortable sharing our unique professional situations in her church, at the camp, or on the farm.  She loved all three with all her heart.  She was in the perfect profession for her personality and was a wonderful listener.  I was never so happy for Barb, than when she met Jon.  Barb was united in marriage to Jonathan P. (Jon) Muhs on August 17, 2003, in Lowden.  Together they did so much good for so many others.  It was always a treat when our paths crossed at Camp Courageous or at a church Barb was serving.  Barb opened many doors for Camp Courageous for which we will be forever grateful.  Barb was a regular Camp volunteer for years and had many joyous experiences at Camp Courageous, with the campers.  One of her favorite being giving ‘wobble buggy rides’ to campers.  Camp’s sincere sympathy goes out to Jon, along with Barb’s family and friends.  She has left a huge void in the hearts of many.
