Camp Courageous would like to thank the American Legion of Iowa Foundation and President, Leonard Ernst from Bellevue, IA for donating to the Camp Courageous’ Nature Trail Project, at their recent convention in Des Moines.   It was a heartwarming session with reports from Girls & Boys State, Educator of the Year, Flag Essays, Boy Scouts, Baseball, Oratorical, Junior Shooting, and so many more community service projects.   Church Williams, from Oelwein, IA (home of Leo Greco) introduced Camp Courageous to the American Legion of Iowa Foundation over 3-decades ago.  Church would have been so moved by this year’s Educator of the Year being Tammy Stasi, from Oelwein.  She did such an exceptional presentation, she received a well-deserved standing ovation.  Since that introduction by Church, they have been loyal supporters of camp, each year. Great group, that touches the lives of many veterans, families, friends, and communities.  We thank each of them for their wonderful service to our country!
