It was nice to have past staffer and volunteer, John Watts stop by Camp.  John was on the staff 40+ years ago, and met his wife, Carol Werner at Camp.  John recently gave a special accessible picnic table in honor and in memory of his mother, Helen Watts.  Helen was a Past Camp Courageous Board Member, Past Camp Courageous Foundation Board Member, and an Honorary Board Member.  She also served as President of Camp Board.    Helen Watts passed at the age of 100.

Helen played a vital role in the camp’s history and leadership.  She was a huge advocate for camp and lead the Program & Personnel Committee for years.  She would sell pineapple, fruitcakes, and you name it, to raise funds and awareness for the camp.  She introduced thousands to the camp.  Helen taught for many years at the University of Dubuque and had such famous students as Past Board President and volunteer of over 40-years, Jim Zimmerman.
