Kevin Urban Donations Special Paddle Boat To Camp, In Memory Of His Wife, Sandy.
It was a special treat for Camp Courageous to have Kevin Urban and Family visit Camp on Kevin’s late wife, Sandy’s Birthday. In memory of Sandy Morris Urban, Kevin donated a beautiful accessible, specially designed, paddle boat. The paddle boat includes one side that is “paddled” with one’s arms rather than their feet. This allows campers the ability to participate in another way and allows up to 4 campers and one staff to be on the boat at a time! Kevin and Family did the inaugural voyage on Lake Todd with this new paddle boat. Sandy loved water sports and seeing kids have fun. There has been nothing, but pure joy come from the many campers who have enjoyed this special boat…where before, they would not have been able to participate. Camp has been fortunate to have Kevin’s Mother, Maxine and husband, Ed as longtime friends and supporters. They had Midwest Metals until 1999 when Kevin and his sister Rita took over. Rita Urban Jelinek, has also been a longtime supporter of Camp. Prior to coming to Camp, Rita’s husband, Craig Jelinek and Charlie taught High School at Central Lee. A wonderful family and truly a heartwarming day. Pictured with Kevin is his daughter, Olivia; granddaughter, Violet; and sister-in-law, Ann…along with brother-in-law Dan.
