Long Time Camper and Camp Traveler, Amy Headington, Passes At 55.

Camp Courageous is deeply saddened by the passing of Camper, Amy Headington, 55, of Cedar Rapids, after a courageous battle with dementia.  Amy was full of life and danced through life with a heart of gold and a heartwarming smile that could light up a room.   Amy loved to dress up and always looked her best.  Amy started coming to Camp Courageous in 1981.  I fondly remember her, sitting with two friends around a tree in front of the lodge…passing a cute little puppy from open arms to open arms.  After a decade of coming to weeklong sessions, Amy quickly latched on to Camp’s Travel Program, where she enjoyed Spa Weekends, along with trips to Chicago, IL; Indianapolis, IN; Sioux Falls, SD; Wisconsin Dells, WI; Gulf Shores, AL; Twin Cities, MN; and the Grand Canyon!  Amy was a true joy to be around…and will be dearly missed by all.
