It was a treat to have Mandy Miller, Manager of Strategic Philanthropy for the Dubuque Racing Association (DRA) visit Camp Courageous.  The DRA recently gave Camp Courageous a grant to remodel South Camper Cabin.  It was fun to show Mandy all the exciting changes and modernization going on for the campers.  We had the opportunity to show Mandy around the entire Camp and the many projects the DRA has been involved with for over 30-years.  Mandy commented, ‘it is so much more than I ever imagined’.  The DRA, through its gaming and entertainment facilities, provides for social, economic, and community betterment and lessens the burden of Dubuque city and area government, while contributing to the growth and viability of the Dubuque area tourism.  Camp Courageous lies halfway (35-miles) from Dubuque and Cedar Rapids, the perfect location to serve large numbers of campers from both locations, and throughout the greater region.
