One Of Camp Courageous Most Popular Campers, Bihari Richard, Passes
Camp Courageous is saddened to have lost one of our most popular campers, Bihari Richards! His personality was larger than life. Bihari was a regular camper, for decades. Looking back on some of his take home reports and memories, he loved everything music, from singing to dancing. In addition, he loved the water, from swimming to canoeing. Bihari’s personality was a radiant light in the lives of those around him. He was a social butterfly, a dancer, and an enthusiastic singer of 1980s rock, pop, and country music. His love for life was evident in his joyful breakdancing, which brought smiles to everyone in the room. His vibrant spirit and infectious laughter filled gatherings with warmth; he had an extraordinary ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Jeanne Muellerleile puts it best, “Bihari was one of the most popular campers in Camp Courageous history. He had a most expressive face, terrific sense of humor and simply exuded joy. When veteran counselors knew Bihari was coming back to camp, many requested to be his counselor. That’s how fun he was. And yes, he could really shake a mean hip, his dance moves were legendary.” Camp’s sympathy goes out to Bihari’s parents, Douglas Rex Richards, and MadhuKanta Maya Richards, along with other family and friends. Bihari brought true joy into the lives of many. His vibrant spirit, unwavering love, and the joy he brought to the world will remain a source of inspiration for all who had the privilege of knowing him.
