President Herbert Hoover’s Family Visit Camp Courageous & Weber Stone Quarry…All Wonderful Supporters Of The Camp!
It was an honor to have members of President Herbert Hoover’s Family visit Camp Courageous. They came in from all over the country to celebrate President Hoover’s 150thBirthday in his hometown of West Branch, IA. Over the years, most of the President’s Family have visited Camp Courageous and are great supporters. Here are members of the President’s Grandson, Andy Hoover’s Family, (L-R) the President’s great grandson, Alexander Hoover; daughter, Sophie; Margaret Hoover’s daughter, Toula, Andy’s wife, Jeanie Hoover and Margaret Hoover’s son, Jack. A special thank you to Mike Deutmeyer, who gave the Hoover family a tour of Weber Stone Quarries. This is where the stone to build the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library & Museum in 1962 originated. Mike’s Grandfather, Bill Weber was a Camp Courageous Honorary Board Member, and played a key role in the building of the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library & Museum. It was a great day!
