It was a special treat to have Rick & Mona Rottinghaus volunteering at today’s Holiday Party…the second party of three.  Rick & Mona have been involved with Camp Courageous for decades.  One cannot help but know all about Camp Courageous when your Godfather was Camp’s Honorary Board Member, Norb Bahl of Jesup, IA.  In addition, their mother was a long-time care provider to Norb & Henrietta’s son, Stevie.  Rick & Mona are all about giving back, so for decades Mona has donated 100s of dozens of new white t-shirts of all sizes for the campers to tie-dye at camp and take home…a thrill for each!  Not to be out done, Rick has been a regular donor of grain to Camp for years…something Camp hopes to spread the word about in the future.   A wonderful couple…who reminds me of one of Norb’s comments to me, 40+ years ago, “the more I give, the more it comes back to me, many times over…”  It was nice to have the Rottinghaus’ at Camp, seeing first-hand the joy they bring so many.
