Robin Mixdorf, An Exceptional Leader & Visionary, Retires, After 25-Years As CEO Of The Meth-Wick Community
Camp Courageous has worked closely with Robin Mixdorf, President, and CEO of Meth-Wick Community, in a variety of ways, over the past few decades. Robin, and her husband, Jon, as they plan for their next chapter, in a new location, have been very generous to Camp Courageous, donating many items from their home, things Camp can use, and items Camp can use for its garage sale. Camp has been humbled by their generosity and kindness.
Within the Meth-Wick Community, the residents have room sales to move on unneeded items. Whatever is left after those sales, is donated to Camp Courageous! Tobi Luetkemeier, Camp’s Volunteer Director, is the person who works closely with the Meth-Wick folks on this project. It is not unusual for Meth-Wick to donate some hospital beds, masks, gloves, and other needed items that are nearing expiration, to help Camp Courageous and the thousands of campers served.
Since joining Meth-Wick in 1999, Robin has exemplified unwavering dedication to the residents, staff, families, and older adults within the community and area. Under her leadership, Meth-Wick has experienced significant growth and transformation, including expanded services, new construction projects, and enhancements to the campus and amenities. Along with knowing Robin through Camp’s many dear friends who reside at Meth-Wick, it has also been through Robin’s community engagement that extended beyond Meth-Wick, where Robin has served on local boards focusing on healthcare and mental health organizations, including UnityPoint, Horizons, and Abbe Health. Robin served as a wonderful leader for Meth-Wick and the community through some of the worst of times…in particular the Covid Pandemic and the Derecho Storm… Disasters tend to bring out the best in true leadership, and Robin rose to the top and shined. Robin was highly praised for her exceptional job work during those unprecedented times.
At the heart of the Meth-Wick Community is a staff of dedicated individuals who put the Meth-Wick residents first and foremost, led by a ‘servant leader’ in Robin Mixdorf. In addition, the Meth-Wick Community is composed of some of the most good and caring residents. They represent some of the nicest folks anyone would ever want to meet.
We wish Robin the very best in retirement…knowing that during Robin’s career she has brought endless happiness and joy into the lives of so many.
