Super Volunteer & Supporter, Linda Palmer, Passes
Camp Courageous Volunteer, Linda Palmer, of Cottage Grove Place in Cedar Rapids, IA has passed at the age of 83. Linda and her husband, Honorary Camp Courageous Board Member, Ralph Palmer, and their business, The Ar-Jay Center, were long time supporters of Camp Courageous. It was Linda & Ralph Palmer who arranged for every camper who overnights at Camp, to receive a framed picture of their group, to put beside their bed, to provide precious memories of the past and look forward to their next visit to Camp. One Ralph’s many projects was the building of Cottage Grove Place (an all-inclusive senior living facility). Ralph would be so happy to know Linda lived out her final six-years, there. Linda could often be seen in the lobby of Cottage Grove Place, greeting guests and residents with her warm welcoming smile. Linda was an avid Cedar Rapids Kernels fan and followed Iowa women’s basketball. For decades, anytime Camp took campers to either, Linda would be there, loyally cheering on the teams. Ralph & Linda always felt that their greatest contribution was raising 3 responsible children, that in turn raised 4 grandchildren that will be solid contributors to society. They often commented how responsible parenting could cure many of the world’s challenges. Camp’s sympathy goes out to Linda’s children, Cindy and Chris Taylor, Rebecca and Terry Keenan, and Jeff and Connie Palmer and her very loved grandkids Cody and Sara Palmer, and Mason and CheLynn Taylor; along with other family and friends. cwb
