The Power Wagon Club Continues To Support Camp! Great Memories!

Charlie Becker-Please accept this check from the 2025 Gordon Maney Memorial Truck Reunion Attendees. Some donated their time, talent, items, and/or money to help further the Camp’s goal of helping all…Jay B Good
Every June people from all over the country meet in Fairfield, Iowa for the Gordon Maney Memorial Dodge Truck Reunion. This used to be known at the Vintage Power Wagon Annual Rally.
Around 10 families who are local to Illinois have created a small Power Wagon Club. We call ourselves the ‘Power Wagon Club”, yes, I know, real original. Last year at the reunion we donated a meal for all the people in attendance. We took donations for Camp Courageous. This year we decided to do it again. This year we provided hot dogs, cowboy beans, pasta salad, and a dessert. We served 80 people. We expanded this year and had our children serve popcorn and nachos for a donation. They collected $111.75. Total, we collected just shy of $1,500.
The Rally also does another fund raiser for Camp Courageous. That is done by Jay Good.
Enclosed you will find a check for $1,500. A special family to The Power Wagon Club is Gregg and Luann Morton. We would like this donation to be in their son’s name, “Patrick Morton.” We are already making plans for next year!

Editorial Note: We love this group…unfortunately Camper Patrick Morton passed, and at his memorial service his Mom & Dad said, ‘for Patrick coming to Camp Courageous was like rolling up Christmas and his Birthday into one.’ We also miss the days when Camp Courageous Board Member, Kevin VanHouten would prepare the meals for the Vintage Power Wagon Annual Rally, and Board Member Jim Foels would be there to help. Kevin, unfortunately, has also passed. Gregg & Luann Morton moved east to the coast…and we miss them all, dearly.
