University of Iowa’s Continental Crossings Engineers-A Part Of ‘Engineers In Action’-Visit & Help Camp-Super Group!

A big thank you to Carrington Stilabower and Julian Hernandez for organizing a group of University of Iowa Engineering students to visit Camp Courageous and work on a surveying project.  These wonderful students are part of the Continental Crossings, a nonprofit organization of Engineers in Action (EIA).  Historically, their primary focus has been to connect students to projects with EIA in the form of building pedestrian footbridges in Bolivia, Eswatini, and Ecuador.  Camp Courageous has been a training ground for these students for years to reach their goal of helping others, who lack the skills these students possess.  Their main goal is to educate and train students in various aspects of international travel and service, such as the importance of cross-cultural communication and the risks of volunteerism. On campus, they work on projects that will impact the local community, host workshops, and connect students with opportunities such as internships with EIA, in addition to their international travel and service trainings.  Camp is grateful for this super relationship and to watch these students excel at helping others.  Camp wishes each the best in their future endeavors.  (L-R) Carrington Stilabower, Jefferson City, MO; Mia Smith, Menomonie, WI; Bill Shoults, Palatine, IL; Aldan Esparza, Oak Park, IL; Kylie James, Wheaton IL; Harrison Price, Alta, IA; Julian Hernandez, Littleton, CO; Ethan Ranft, Riverside, IL; Brynn Bailey, Centerville, IA; Anna Larson, Johnston, IA; Marista Fraley, Neenah, WI; Thomas Blair, Dubuque, IA; Ivan Fisher, Fairbanks, AK.
