The Legendary, Armond Pagliai Sr., 92, of Iowa City Has Passed…Leaving A Life Well Lived & Friend To All.

The legendary, Armond Pagliai Sr., 92, of Iowa City has passed.  His work ethic was above exceptional, and this motto was to treat every pizza like a work of art made with care and consistency and treat the customer as you would want to be treated.  It would be a challenge to find a University of Iowa student, going back to 1962, that did not know Mr. Pagliai and had not eaten one of his pizzas.  Most of us have fond memories of Mr. Pagliai demonstrating his works of art in the front window of Pagliai’s Pizza on Bloomington Street.  Beyond being an exceptional businessperson, Mr. Pagliai also had a heart of gold.  A dear friend of Camp Courageous, he did everything from providing camperships, to gift certificates, to being a major site for selling Camp Courageous Fruitcakes.  Armond was a wonderful person, not only as a pizza icon, but as a genuine, humble, gentle man, with a heart of gold.
