Dear Friends of Camp Courageous-

We would like you to be among the first to learn about an exciting new camper cabin project at Camp Courageous. Campers will continue to have the opportunity to stay in one of Camp’s three traditional camper cabins, each featuring large rooms that create the camp environment we all remember. With this new camper cabin, Camp plans to provide campers with greater privacy and independence through individual rooms with private bathrooms — creating a comfortable, home-like experience.

Thus, Camp Courageous is embarking on the construction of a new camper cabin designed to accommodate 46 campers with a wide variety of disabilities. The facility will also include a large open gathering space to host a variety of camper activities and programs. This cabin will be nestled in the scenic Pictured Rocks Addition of Camp Courageous, just steps away from the new Pitlik Wildlife Viewing Area, which overlooks hundreds of acres of land, the nature trail, and many other outdoor activities.

We hope you will join us in supporting this next chapter in Camp Courageous’ history. From serving 211 campers during the summer of 1974 to welcoming nearly 10,000 campers of all ages in a year-round program. Camp Courageous has continued to grow because of caring supporters like you. It continues to be Camp Courageous’ goal to make coming to Camp Courageous the highlight of a camper’s year.

Included with this information are opportunities to join this meaningful project. Camp Courageous does not employ anyone to raise money for the camp, nor does the camp receive government funding. Thus, projects like this are only possible through the generosity of individuals like you who believe in the Camp’s mission. With your support—and by sharing our story with others—we can make this dream a reality. The timeline is to break ground in the Spring of 2027 and be ready for campers the Spring of 2028.

Donations of any amount toward this project are sincerely appreciated.

All gifts of $1000 or over will be acknowledged on a display board in the building commons.
