Today, December 6th, Camp Courageous—in partnership with Monticello Parks and Recreation—hosted a very merry Community

Holiday Party! The event was a wonderful success, welcoming campers, their families, staff, and many new faces from the community, of all ages. Guests enjoyed holiday treats, roasted golden brown or charred black marshmallows, and even had the chance to go play games with Santa himself! These games included bowling, basketball, skee ball and pool!

A special thank-you goes to Stacy Thies, Camp Courageous staff member and our beloved “head elf” who added her creative touch and holiday spirit, gifting every attendee that visited Santa a surprise treat bag after visiting with Santa and put together a drawing for Santa stockings to two lucky winners!

Santa also made sure to take a photo with every boy and girl who attended. A big thank-you goes to Deze’Rae McElmeel Photography for generously donating her time and editing talents to capture some truly wonderful moments from the event. We are also grateful for the additional photos and videos shared by our amazing volunteers.

1. Holiday Concert Extravaganza at Camp‘s Durgin Pavilion: Dec 12th: Doors open at 10:45am, Concert start at 11am: Featuring the New Horizons Band and Santa
2. Holiday Pool Party: Dec 17th, 6:30pm-8:00pm: Camp Courageous, Vermazen-Carver Aquatic Center
