A Weekend of Quilts, Creativity, and Connection

Over the past four days, Camp has been filled with the hum of sewing machines, bursts of laughter, and the unmistakable sense of community that comes from people gathering to create something meaningful together. Camp was honored to host a wonderful group of 32 talented quilters from all across eastern Iowa for a retreat that turned our space into a vibrant hub of creativity. Each woman arrived with her own supplies, ideas, and passion, carefully setting up her own sewing station and settling in for a few days dedicated to the craft they love.

What made this retreat even more special was the generosity of the group. They donated an incredible 36 handmade quilts to our campers. These quilts are more than just blankets—they are gifts of comfort, warmth, and love that will be cherished by those who receive them.

And the work didn’t stop there! Throughout the weekend, new projects were started, ideas were shared, and friendships were strengthened. By the end of the retreat, not only had dozens of beautiful quilts been started, but countless memories were made. We are so grateful to this amazing group of women for choosing to spend their time here, for sharing their talents, and for giving so generously to our campers.

We look forward to welcoming them back again soon—our doors (and sewing spaces) are always open.
