Camp Courageous’ sympathy goes out to the family, friends, colleagues, and students of Janet Morris, 75, of Fairfield, IA. Janet taught Special Education at Pence Elementary in Fairfield and was awarded Teacher of the Year. Over her career she brought hundreds of Special Education students to Camp Courageous, giving most their first experience at Camp. That first experience often turned into an annual event for the student…often being the highlight of their year. Janet was known for doing the above and beyond, often staying close to students and their families, long after graduation. Camp has heard many stories from campers like Ross Robinson, and his mom, Rhonda; on the endless support and kindness Janet provided so many special students and their families. Along with Camp Courageous, Janet was an active volunteer contributing to her community and those in need. Janet asked that her memorials be made in her name to Camp Courageous, where Janet was a dedicated volunteer and saw firsthand, the joy and growth the Camp brought her students and others. www.campcourageous.org/donate
