Lynn Kobliska’s Memory Stays Alive In The Hearts & Minds Of Campers, Staff, and Volunteers…

It was a treat to have Martha Kobliska and Bob Kinson from Virginia include Camp Courageous on their tour of the country this summer!  Martha’s husband, Lynn Kobliska, was a huge backer of the Camp Courageous’ Train Project.  He would take his vacation time as a US Marshal in Washington DC to return to his roots in Iowa (Waterloo) to volunteer with the train, for several weeks a year.  From the donation of the train from Tom & Nan Riley, to special engineering by Iowa State students, to the laying of the track, Lynn was physically and mentally totally involved.  Lynn unexpectedly died at the age of 50 from the flu in April 2013.  Lynn always wanted Camp Courageous to have a caboose.  And it is in his memory, Larry Greco and others sought out this caboose, donated by the CRANDIC (Cedar Rapids and Iowa City Rail).  Much of the original train items along the track and in the little museum at the train depot were donated to Camp by Martha, in memory of Lynn.  Very dear and wonderful friends! -Charlie
