18th Annual Hawkeye Tailgate Huge Dream Come True For Campers

A special thank you to Kirk Ferentz and the University of Iowa Senior Football players for making a dream come true for dozens of Camp Courageous Campers!  Thank you to Joseph ‘Sam’ Brinks, Assistant Director of Player Development for doing the behind-the-scenes work orchestrating the event at the University of Iowa Hansen Performance Center.  All are exceptional!

Key to the success of the day is Camp Courageous Board Member, Glenn Hasken, along with Molo Companies in Dubuque who sponsor the event and play a HUGE role in the success of the day.  They donated and prepare a huge breakfast the night before, bring it in roaster and containers early and serve it out, along with a huge variety of drinks and additonal food.

Along with campers and players receiving a great breakfast, they receive a t-shirt,  head gear, posters to be signed and a bag to carry all the goodies.

We can not say enough good about the players…they were as good as they come…each pouring their hearts out to make sure this day was extra special for the campers!

After a great breakfast, campers took their free items for the players and coach to sign.  Then they preceded to tour the facilities, ending on the practice field tossing and kicking the football with the players.  It was a wonderful day, filled with memories that will last a lifetime.
